FileMaker Quick Start Screen
Every time you launch FileMaker Pro, the FileMaker Quick Start
Screen shows you how to create a new database, open an existing
database or learn more about the product. You’ll be able to create new
databases from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, a text file or even your
Bento data in a couple of clicks. Plus the new "See it, Use it, Learn
it" interface guides you through creating a database.

help you get started even faster! Choose from 30 updated Starter
Solutions for the most popular FileMaker tasks, like managing contacts,
organizing projects, and tracking inventory. These Starter Solutions

Import from Excel
Drag and drop an Excel spreadsheet to instantly import your data
into FileMaker Pro or open a spreadsheet in FileMaker Pro from the
Quick Start Screen. The intuitive point-and-click interface helps you
customize your data by dragging and dropping fields and objects
wherever you want. You can even save your data back to Excel in a
single click with the Excel Maker feature.
Import from Bento
FileMaker Pro 10 now works with Bento, the personal database for the
Mac. Import your Bento data directly into a new FileMaker database from
the Quick Start Screen. Or add your Bento information into an existing
FileMaker database – combine it with your FileMaker information or
import it as a separate table. Through Bento you can now add your Mac
OS X Address Book and iCal information as well.

Once you create a database in FileMaker Pro it's so easy to share it
with others. If your computers are connected to a network, you and up
to nine other FileMaker Pro users can access the same database file
simultaneously. It doesn't matter if you're on a Mac or a Windows PC,
FileMaker Pro works seamlessly between the two platforms.
Save as Excel
Send your Data in Popular Formats
You can also share your information in popular formats such as
Microsoft Excel or Adobe® Acrobat. Just choose the Save/Send Records as
Excel or PDF, and your FileMaker data is saved in the selected format.
You can then send your Excel file or PDF via email in just a couple of
clicks.
FileMaker Server 10
Sharing with Large Groups
FileMaker Server software supports secure database sharing with
large groups of people. If you have more than nine people that you need
to share databases with at the same time, FileMaker Server 10 supports
up to 250 simultaneous FileMaker Pro users. Or if you have larger
groups of people, FileMaker Server 10 Advanced can connect up to 999
users concurrently.

Securely publish your databases to the web with FileMaker Pro in a
couple of clicks. Publish registration sites, customer feedback forms,
service requests, surveys and more. FileMaker Pro supports up to five
simultaneous web users. If you need to support and share databases with
larger groups of people over the web, FileMaker Server 10 Advanced
supports up to 20x as many web users as FileMaker Pro.
If you want to build custom, data-driven websites, FileMaker Server
10 has integrated support for PHP. It includes the PHP Site Assistant
that helps guide you step-by-step to produce PHP-based web pages based
on your FileMaker Pro layouts - no PHP coding skills required.

OEM "Original Equipment Manufacturer" Software is distributed
to companies like Dell, IBM & HP for installation on new machines.
The main difference is that OEM can not be used as an upgrade, any previous or
trial versions of the software must be uninstalled before installing an
OEM. The packaging is typically CD & License, no box. OEM
Software does not come with installation support from the manufacturer.
